During the months of confinement, Lucia Demajo and Damià Rubio understood that it would not be possible to reopen the JAM Hostel Barcelona in the conditions that we would like during 2020, and much to our regret we decided that it was best to wait until 2021. However, we did not wanted our accommodation to remain closed, but it could be used by some organitzation in the city. This is how we got in contact with different Public Institutions, Associations, NGOs and other entities offering our space. We want to thank all of them for their kindness and the good reception of our proposal.

Finally this effort has paid off! Today, July 1, 2020, we are ready to communicate with all pride and joy that the JAM Hostel Barcelona will collaborate with BarcelonaActua, giving up its hostel as the home of 45 asylum seekers, humanitarian immigrants and young refugees for the rest of 2020. The offer of accommodation for these people is complemented by different programs that BarcelonaActua develops with the mission of helping them in their social integration in Barcelona.

You can read more about the project in the press release published by BarcelonActua. We also invite you to contact them to help them in their project as volunteers and / or donors.
